For the room that needs to know before you speak.

I M is the discipline of declaring who you are before the world decides for you.
The world will name you before it knows you. It will shorten you, resize you, explain you, and call that understanding. I M is what happens when you stop answering to the version of yourself that was built for somebody else's comfort.

Ishmael Mohamed was born in Sierra Leone and learned attention the hard way, as a small boy in a country that turned dangerous overnight. What started as survival became a way of moving. Today he is a father, writer, builder, protector, and the founder of I M, the work that turns lived truth into language other people can use.
Meet Ishmael→People see two letters and think brand.
That is not what this is.
Before I M was a mark, it was a refusal. Before it was a shirt, it was a sentence I had to live first. The logo is the short version of a long act of getting my full self back.
I M not a slogan.
I M a standard.

Everybody gets handed a name, a box, a story about who they are supposed to be for somebody else. I M is for the ones who take the pen back. The way you do it is daily, and the work has three parts. Provide. Protect. Profess.

People think provision is money. It is not. Money is one tool. Provide is the discipline of building the ground where dignity can stand without you in the room.

People think protection is aggression. It is not. Protect is readiness under restraint. It is what love looks like when it refuses to leave people exposed.

People think speaking is performance. It is not. Profess is taking the pen back before silence becomes someone else's evidence of who you are.
This is not a memoir asking to be admired. It is the long version of how a boy who survived a war became a man who refused to be edited, and what he learned that other people can actually use. If you came here to learn Ishmael, you will. But that was never the whole point. The point is to stop hiding from yourself.
People think clothing is style. For me it was first nature, before language. Merch says, I support something. I M says, I am something. When you put on a piece, you are not buying a shirt. You are putting on a reminder of what you already declared.
